About TEST

Historical Background

In Tripura there are three existing Engineering Associations besides TEST in state level

  • All Tripura Engineers Association (A.T.E.A.)
  • State Engineers Association Tripura (S.E.A.T.)
  • All Tripura Diploma Engineers Association (A.T.D.E.A.)

They have been working since long but their activity in the interest of Indigenous Engineers has not been appreciable, moreover some time they moves against the reservation or against the interest of the Indigenous Engineers.

Considering the situation with future perspective, in the year 2001, the Senior & Unemployed Engineers from various Government and Non-Government Sector of Tripura came out with a solution to form a common platform for Indigenous Engineers by the name of "TRIBAL ENGINEERS' SOCIETY, TRIPURA" (T.E.S.T.) in order to tackle the legitimate right of Indigenous people. Where all the Degree and Diploma ST Engineers irrespective of being employed / unemployed can enroll in this society.


Structure of TES Tripura

  • CENTRAL EXECUTIVE BODY = 16 members
  • DIVISIONAL BODY = District-wise minimum 6 members
  • We have 4 Districts Committee like = 1. WEST, 2. NORTH, 3. SOUTH & 4. DHALAI

TOTAL MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY = More than 350 registered Members.

There are about 850 ST Engineers in our Tripura out of which 450 Employee Engineers and 400 Unemployed Engineers.


Aims & Objectives

The "TRIBAL ENGINEERS' SOCIETY, TRIPURA" is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 & the Registration No. is 4141 dated 24th April, 2003.

The main objectives of the Society are furnished below :

  • To foster, maintain and improve friendly relation and co-operation among the members of the Society.
  • To work as a non-political and secular organization.
  • To extend social services as the organization may think relevant/ may think fit from time to time.
  • To publish books, Journals, posters for betterment of the youngsters in connection with the attainment of the objects of the Society.
  • To collect subscription and donations from members and others to attain the object of the Society.
  • To acquire by purchase or lease or otherwise , lands building and other properties movable or immovable as the Society from time may think fit for the welfare of the members for the Society.
  • To accept, bequeath, gift, grant or endowment for the attainment of the object of the Society.
  • To organize and undertake training in village industries for the welfare of the members for the Society.
  • To do all such other things as may be conducive or incidental to the attainment of all or any of the objects.
  • To conduct career guidance content updating /seminar etc. for the welfare of the Society.
  • To conduct cultural activities for the upliftment of the society.
  • To conduct entertainment activities such as games and sports, excursions etc.
  • To run a Nutrition Centre.
  • To establish and maintain Balwadi Institutions, Libraries and reading Room for the welfare of the member of the Society.
  • To run condensed course of training for adult members of the Society.
