The site was jointly visited by TES Tripura with the All India SC/ST Employee Welfare Association, ONGC on 9th June, 2012. The Korbong Para is located under Champabari VC of Jirania Block and only 6 kms away from the Champaknagar National Highway 44 Road. The Korbong community is well known as a vanishing tribe of Tripura and only 18 families are existing at that village.

There is only another one place where such community are living which is Lembukcherra under Teliamura & they belong to the Halam Community. Considering the above fact, we decided to submit a project to develop mainly on Education, Sanitation & Economy etc. as well as to protect the community too.
