The Korbong para is a habitant of 31 families only and most of them are Korbong community. They are very much poor and one of the weaker sections comparing with other community. The most vital thing that led to selection of that village is Korbong community, well-known as a diminishing Tribe of Tripura and in whole State about 30 Korbong families are remaining. The selection of the Model Village project is also to safeguard the KORBONG tribes from diminishing tendency and to uplift the most downtrodden people of Korbong hamlet. They are sub tribes of Halam community of Tripura. In entire village there is no one who has completed Class-X final examination when we started the project and no any Govt. employee from this village till date & the villagers are mostly dependent on forest resources. Considering the fact the TES has submitted a Model Village project to the ONGC on 27-06-2013.
